She pursued her career in acting from 2008 with the Australian film, Suite for Fleur. She made her appearance in 2013 drama film in a small role in Around the Block.
On the third and fourth season of the series titled Orange Is the New Black. She received praise for her good work in that series. She received the ASTRA Award in 2009 for Favourite Female Personality.
She has made her appearance in many action films including Resident Evil: Final Chapter, XXX: Return of Xander Cage, John Wick: Chapter 2. These all films got great positive reviews and made her more well known all over the world.
It is said that she will appear in some films in 2017 and 2018 including Pitch Perfect and Meg. Both of the films are based on the novel of its same name.

She was born and grown up in Melbourne. She was raised by her mother. She is the daughter of Katia Langenheim. Katia is a twenty-year-old mother and artist. She describes it as one of her role models.
Her birth name was Ruby Rose Langenheim. Before settling in Melbourne, she frequently traveled many places including living in rural Tasmania, Victoria, and Surfers Paradise.
As an early age girl, she attended Footscray City College and University High School. She is the great-granddaughter of Alec Campbell, the last surviving Australian soldier, and god-daughter of Lionel Rose, boxer.

At the age of twelve, she came out as a lesbian. Because of her sexuality, she suffered physical abuse from her mates and relatives, which resulted in a suicide attempt.
She was sexually abused, and she was in a clinical depression in her early age. She has said that she wanted to be a boy and she was saving money to transfer herself from female to male.
After her modeling career, her mind got changed, and she was fine with her gender. She announced her engagement to Phoebe Dahl, a fashion designer in 2014. The couple ended their romantic relationship in 2015 December.
