Charlie Murphy (July 12, 1959-April 12,2017) was a well-known American writer,  actor, and comedian. Charlie Murphy was a resident of New Jersey who is better known as a writer. Charlie was Eddie’s older brother.

Charlie’s father, Charles Murphy was a New York City police officer, Charlie’s mother, Lillian Murphy was a telephone operator. Charlie was married to Tisha Taylor Murphy in 1997. They had two children. After Tisha’s death, Charlie got married to another woman and had one child.Charlie Murphy

Charlie as an adult guy, in his early life, he spends 10 months in jail and got released in 1978. At the beginning of his career, he used to play minor roles in different films at around 1990 period. On 1988 Charlie wrote “Somebody’s Brother” and “Say Who Say  What” through which he was credited as a writer of these two songs.Charlie first appeared in the video “The Beat Is Military”. Murphy got the chance to play a film CBN in 1993 where he got a major role.

Through the help of Chappelle’s show, Charlie started to achieve a good fame as a great performer.Later, Charlie started hosting Chappelle’s Show with Donnell Rawlings after the retirement of Dave Chappelle.Charlie appeared in the movie King’s Ransom in 2005 where he played a role of a fake kidnapper. Charlie Murphy started his own sketch comedy series on March 20, 2009, named Charlie Murphy’s  Crash Comedy. 1000 Ways to and Are We There Yet? are some movies in which Charlie made a special appearance.

Being a very successful person in the film industry and a popular stand-up comedian, he lost his battle with leukemia on April 12, at the age of 57. Hours before he passed away, he tweeted, “One to Sleep On: Release the past to rest as deeply as possible.”

After the news broke of Charlie’s death, his family members released an emotional statement, they said. “Charlie filled our family with love and laughter and there won’t be a day that goes by that his presence will not be missed. We respectfully ask for privacy during this time of great loss for all of us.”
