Charlie Hunnam, an English actor, was born on April 10, 1980, in Newcastle, Tyne, and Wear. He is famous and well-known for his role in the FX drama series, Sons of Anarchy as Jackson Jax Teller.

He is also known for his role as Nathan Maloney in the Channel 4 drama, Queer as Folk, as Lloyd Haythe in the comedy series, Undeclared, small role in Nicholas Nickleby, as Pete Dunham in Green Street, as Raleigh Becket in Pacific Rim, and in the little role in the epic fantasy film, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.

Charlie Hunnam Early Life

He was born and raised in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. He is the son of William “Billy” Hunnam, a scrap metal merchant, and Jane Hunnam, a business owner. He is the second child in the family; he was born after brother, William Billy.

He has two younger half-brothers, Christian and Oliver. When he was two years old, his parents divorced. As his mother remarried, when he was twelve, he moved to the village of Melmerby, Cumbria.

He attended Heaton Manor School in Newcastle. Later, he went to Ullswater Community College and then to Queen Elizabethan Grammer School located in Penrith, Cumbria.

He graduated with a degree in the history and theory of film from Cumbria College of Art and Design.

He first played a major role at the age of eighteen as a 15-year-old schoolboy, Nathan Maloney in the drama, Queer as Folk. Later, he made his appearance in the 1999 film, Whatever Happened to Harold Smith? in the role of Daz then he moved to the United States.

In his early career, he made his appearance on the large screen in several movies including Abandon, Cold Mountain, and Nicholas Nickleby. He played the leading role in the 2005 film, Green Steet in the role of Pete Dunham.

In the philosophical drama/thriller film, The Ledge, he played the role of Gavin Nichols. The film was directed by Matthew Chapman. In the 2012 crime drama, Deadfall, he made his appearance in the role of an ex-boxer, Jay in the Stefan Ruzowitzky.

In the 2013 sci-fi film, Pacific Rim, he played in the role of Raleigh Becket. The movie was directed by Guillermo del Toro, and the movie grossed more than $411 million all over the world.

He received Huading Award on June 2, 2014, for Best Global Emerging Actor, for his role in Pacific Rim as Raleigh.
