Adam West, an American actor, was born on September 19, 1928, and died on June 9, 2017. He is best widely known for his role as Batman in the 1960s ABC series Batman and its theatrical feature film of 1966.

In the 1950s, he started acting in films. He has made his appearance in several films including  Geronimo, Robinson Crusoe on Mars, and voice work on The Simpsons, The Fairly OddParents, and Family Guy, where he played the fictional versions in all three.

He was born and grown up in Walla Walla, Washington. His birth name was William West Anderson. His mother was a concert pianist, and an opera singer and his father were a farmer. He requested his father to go to Hollywood after school. After his parent’s divorce, he moved to Seattle at the age of fifteen with his mother.

During his sophomore and freshman years, he attended Walla Walla High School and later transferred to Lakeside School located in Seattle. From Whitman College which is in Walla Walla, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree with a minor in psychology and literature.

At that time, he uses to participate on the speech competition and debate team. On American Forces Network, he served as an announcer after drafted into the United States Army. Before moving to Hawaii he began a career in television, he worked as a milkman.

He began working on a children’s show, El Kini Popo Show, which featured a chimp. He made his appearance in a role as the sidekick. He transferred to Hollywood with his wife and two children in 1959, where he selected the stage name Adam West.

He appeared in the movie, The Young Philadelphians. He made his appearance in several guest star roles in numerous television Westerns. West played a guest role in the crime drama film, Johnny Midnight and later played a supporting role in the crime drama movie, The Detectives Starring Robert Taylor.

He was cast by William Dozier as Batman in the television series, Batman. This popular campy show ram from 1966 to 1968 on ABC. He played as the Bond for the film; Diamonds Were Forever in 1970.

He reprised the role of Batman in many shows including, The Batman/Tarzan Adventure Hour, Tarzan and the Super 7, The Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians  Super Friends: The Legendary Super Powers Show,  and The Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians.
